Life Poems

Poems for a Broader Experience

Childhood

You get it once,
Only once.
You laugh, swim, and play
Through it.
You look forward,
Only forward,
To the very next best day
With life.
An
Uncontaminated,
Uncompromised,
Unyielding,
Uncomplicated way
To learn to be an adult;
It happens day by day,
Hour by hour, no result
Intended, just a fray
Of new things to exult.
New experiences to be had,
To be happy, sad, and glad.
To have those tiny moments to yourself,
Unadulterated by knowing about how everything can suck so bad when you're an adult.
